This zero-waste Q-tip is a sustainable alternative to the billions of single-use cotton swabs that are produced each year. The average person goes through hundreds of cotton swabs per year. LastSwab can be used at least 1000 times.
Clean the swab with water and a little bit of soap. Rubbing alcohol can be used to sanitize it.
The swab ends are made of the rubber-like material TPE, and the rod is made of plastic reinforced with glass fiber. The case comes in two versions and is either made of the plant-based material PLA, or of recycled ocean-bound plastic.
I have sensitive ears and the cotton swaps started to irritate the skin in my ears. This is much better. Added bonus for sustainability.
I'm trying to reduce waste where I can, and this swab is a great sustainable alternative to cotton Q-tips. Since these swabs don't have the absorbing properties of cotton, my ears sometimes still feel moist afterwards. But it does draw out wax (this can easily be seen), so I know it's working.
