PDRN + EGF Explained: The Ingredients for Smooth, Radiant Skin

If you’ve been paying attention to skincare trends lately, you’ve probably seen two ingredients everywhere: PDRN and EGF. While they may sound clinical or intimidating, both are simply ingredients designed to support healthier-looking, more resilient skin, especially when dealing with dullness, dehydration, uneven texture, or loss of firmness.

What is PDRN in skincare?

PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a skin-supporting ingredient known for helping support the skin’s natural recovery and renewal process. In skincare, it’s often used to help improve the appearance of tired, stressed, or depleted skin by supporting hydration, elasticity, and overall skin resilience.

Traditionally, PDRN was derived from salmon DNA, but many modern Korean skincare brands (including Purito) now use plant-based alternatives that offer similar skin-supporting benefits without animal-derived ingredients.

What is EGF?

EGF stands for Epidermal Growth Factor. It’s a protein naturally found in the skin that helps support the skin’s renewal process. In skincare, EGF is commonly used in routines focused on smoothing texture, improving the appearance of fine lines, and supporting firmer-looking skin over time.

Because EGF works best in hydrating, barrier-supportive routines, it’s often paired with ingredients like collagen, peptides, and PDRN.

Why use PDRN + EGF together?

Together, PDRN and EGF create a skincare combination focused on recovery, hydration, and maintaining healthy-looking skin. While PDRN helps support resilience and glow, EGF helps support smoother, firmer-looking skin over time.

The result? Skin that looks more rested, balanced, hydrated, and radiant - without needing an overly complicated routine.

Our current favorite pairing is the Purito PDRN + EGF Glow Ritual Duo, combining a lightweight treatment serum with a glow-enhancing peel-off mask for an easy two-step skin reset.
