What is BHA?
BHAs (beta hydroxy acids) are plant-based acids derived from willow tree bark, wintergreen leaves or sweet birch bark. Types of BHA include salicylic acid, betaine salicylate, and willow bark extract.

What are the skin benefits?
Like AHAs, BHAs exfoliate the skin, but they are able to penetrate deeper. They prevent the build-up of sebum by cleaning the pore lining. BHAs also control sebum and reduce its production by slowing down the shedding of skin cells.

Who should use this ingredient?
BHAs are suitable for acne-prone skin or those with excess oil production.
