What is it?
Green tea is a botanical originating in China, and is derived from the leaves and buds of the plant camellia sinensis. It has been consumed as a drink for hundreds of years. This plant has not undergone the same fermentation process as oolong and black teas.

What are the skin benefits?
Green tea is an antioxidant, meaning it protects the skin from harmful free radicals (UV radiation and pollution). It also promotes DNA repair in skin cells. Because green tea has been shown to reduce signs of sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines, it's often formulated in products that target anti-aging. It is also full of vitamin E, which helps hydrate the skin. Those with acne or oily skin benefit from green tea's anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.
